With reference to your letter of the 26th/30th ultimo, I am directed by Mr. Chamberlain to inform you that a despatch has been received from the Governor of Hong Kong relative to the application of Miss Caroline Walker for a nursing appointment in the Far East.
Surgeon-General H. Hake states that the Principal Civil Medical Officer has reported that Mrs. Walker was a capable and painstaking nurse, but that her state of health, during the last year of her service in Hong Kong, was such that he does not think it advisable for her to return...
